The electric storm which occurred Monday evening about 8 o'clock, did some serious damage.

The fire department were called out at the height of the storm to a fire caused by lightning at the home of Mrs. A. Wilson, 1335 Hill Street. The department made good time in getting to the house, but the flames had been subdued by member of the household before the firemen reached the spot.

The fire was caused by the lightning following the electric wires into the house, and igniting the gas in the pipes at the point where the pipes and electric wires join. The flames were terrific for a few moments until the gas could be shut off from the main pipe. About $150 damage was done.

The lightning got in its work on the electric cars also, tying up traffic for about half an hour during the storm.
