SOME MINOR BUSINESS TRANSACTED WEDNESDAY NIGHT

City Engineer Instructed to Advertise for Bids for Paving Ann Street

At the meeting of the board of public works Wednesday night, Koch Bros., the contractors, were granted permission to occupy portions of Washington and Main streets for storing material while building the new State Savings bank.

A communication from George Hastreiter, asking that he be allowed a certain portion of the expense that he went to in putting in a sewer connection on his property, was referred to the common council.

A resolution by Mr. Sauer that a cement sidewalk be constructed on the southwesterly side of Washtenaw avenue, from S. University avenue northeasterly and around the curve to Hill street and on the north side to the west line of the property owned by the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, was carried.

The matter of paving the alley between Huron and Washington streets was referred to the city engineer, while on motion of Mr. Sauer the city engineer was requested to advertise bids for the paving of Ann street with brick. The bids to be in not later than 7:30 o'clock on the evening of June 11.

Mr. Sauer further offered a resolution directing that Hill street between Washtenaw and New Jersey avenues, and Oxford road from Geddes avenue to Washtenaw avenue be graded according to the grade established. The resolution was carried.
