BREEZY TOPICS AT WHITMORE LAKE

Whitmore Lake, June 5.- Beans are coming in quite plentifully to the elevators, prices ranging from $1.25 to $1.30 per bushel. Fifteen pickers are kept busily engaged.

August Wilkes has been suffering with inflammation of the lungs, but Dr. Lemon reports him out of danger.

Mrs. Emma Bryant, formerly night operator here for the Ann Arbor railroad and her brother, Ernest West, operator at Alexis, are spending a few days among their many friends.

Monday completed the corn planting in this vicinity. Wheat is looking well. There will be an abundant hay crop. A very large area of beans will be planted. The fruit outlook never was more flattering. The onion crop is in fine condition and the farmers are pleased with the prospects.

Eugene Helber's naptha launch is a hummer and Capt. Jammie is doing a land office passenger business.

Miss May McCormick is gradually gaining strength after a six months' serious illness.

Children's Day will be observed by the rendering of a very fine program at the M. E. church, and the children are kept busy practicing their lines.

Harry Moss made a flying start for Ann Arbor yesterday. His wheel broke down five miles this side of Ann Arbor and he walked the balance of the way. He came home on the train.
