Whitmore Lake, June 16. - Yesterday a party of  seven left Ann Arbor at 5 o'clock a. m., breakfasted at Wm. Winans' at this place at 7. a. m., and, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Winans went to Silver lake, in Green Oak, fishing and report good success and fine sport. A fish dinner was prepared at Henry Doan's and relished by 19.

Station Agent Fred Perry and wife are enjoying a visit from his parents and sister, from Ionia. Mr. Perry has been an official of the Ionia reformatory for the past 15 years.

Frank N. Baker and wife visited Ypsilanti over Sunday.

T. Frank Taylor made a business trip to Jackson Saturday.

Charles and Archie Smith have gone to Jackson on a visit.

Wm. Winans is painting Wm. Dunlap's new patent barn, which is a beauty.

On Friday over 200 bass were taken from Whitmore lake, Frank Taylor and Frank Roper catching 27.

David O'Brien's new residence is ready for occupancy and Dame Rumor says David will not occupy it alone. It is not learned who the happy better half will be.

Mrs. J. P. Dodge returned last Saturday night a two weeks' pleasant visit with relatives at Caro, Mich.

Nine coaches loaded with excursionists came from the north Sunday morning.

Sixty guests sat down to supper at Lake house last Saturday night, and there are 25 regular boarders quarteded there. Landlord Stevens says he has not had as good a trade in the past eight years.

Jay Winans, of Ann Arbor, visited his brother and family last Sunday.

The hop at the Clifton house on Friday night was a successful and swell affair, and everybody enjoyed themselves.

James R. Bach and wife, Fred Showerman and wife and Dr. Burke were at the Clifton house Sunday.

A party of 10 from Ann Arbor is occupying the Ottmar cottage, among whom is Mr. and Mrs. George Beinhimer.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Helber and two children are at their cottage and are entertaining Mrs. Helber's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Bearss, of Los Angeles. Cal., and are having a royal good time.

Jay Green and wife and Mrs. Geo. Bunn visited his mother, Mrs. Ida R. Holmes, Sunday.

The Toledo Ice and Coal Co. are shipping 10 cars of ice daily to Toledo and other Ohio points. As they have 70,000 tons of this commodity stored here it will keep their crew of loaders until ice comes again to empty their houses.
