On the Face of the Waters.
Upon the ark's deck Noah stood
And cast his eagle eye
Around, above, beneath, aside,
And saw but sea and sky.
The wide, wide waste of watery wet
Was as a monarch's throne;
No other ship was on that sea
Which Noah did not own.
"By gum!" he cried in thunder tones,
"There's none so great as me!
In matters maritime I am
The Morgan of the sea!"
