The local lodge of the Deutscnen Ordnung Harugari will entertain delegates of the lodges all over the state on August 5. At that time the state convention of the society will be held in this city. Forty delegates are expected to be in attendance and they will be royally entertained at the American .house at the expense of the society in this city. After the business meeting, wihich will occupy the entire day, the visitiug dielegates will be entertained at Germania hall in the evening. A dance will be given with music furnished by Otto's Knights Templar band. A general entertainment lias l.teen arranged by the committee in charge, to rnake the evening a pleasant one for thce who do not trip the light fantastic. Thore will be speeches by prominent members of the society, music and every otlher pleasant feature possible to obtain. The Harngari lodge in this city was organized in 1883 and has grown unti it now has a membership of 180. J. R TrojanowskJ, of this city, is comman der of the grand lodge of the state, am Kugene Oesterlin, sr., is financier o the state lodge. One of the most admirable features o" the society is the sick benefit con nected with it, which pays its members $4 a week for six months during sickness and in case of death pays -SöOO to the family of the deceased. These philanthrtipic plans are most admirable and have in manv cases proven to be of invaluable assistance to bereaved families. It is an honor of v.üieh Ann Arbor is justly proud to have the D. O. H. select this city as the place for holding their eonvention this year.
