During the memorable storm of Thursday, July 24, lightning struck the team of Mr. Smith, two miles south of town, killing them instantly. His son Roy was standing at their heads and Andrew Martin back of them. Both boys were severely shocked. They bad taken refuge in a shed on the back of the farm when found. Mr. Smith had to get another horse to carry them home, where medical aid was called and they were restored to consciousness. They are now doing finely.
