Brief Notes From Chelsea
Chelsea, Mich., Aug. 1. - The German Working Men's society of this place will make a strong bid at Ypsilanti German Day to have the next meeting of the society held in Chelsea. About 150 Chelsea Maccabees attended Maccabee Day at Saline yesterday. Harrison & Moran, formerly of Brown City, who recently purchased the foundry business of Norton & Clark, took possession the first of this week. Besides doing a general foundry business these gentlemen will manufacture a very light draft plow that they have made elsewhere for some years. E. Coe has purchased the residence of M. L. Burkhart on East street. The Chelsea Junior Stars will cross bats with the Pinckney Juniors on Saturday at Pinckney. Next Friday the Plymouth ball team will come here and play the Junior Stars. St. Paul's Sunday school are making arrangements to hold their annual picnic at Cavanaugh lake in the near future. At a special meeting of the village council last Monday evening the board granted an extention of time for the collection of village taxes until September 5. The members of Lafayette Grange will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Keyes, of Lima, Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 1:30 p. m.
