A suspicious appearing incident occurred on N. Thayer street at an early hour Friday morning. A horse and carriage had been hitched in front of the residence of J. C. Henderson nearly all night. At about 3 o'clock this morning the horse became so restive that it disturbed all of the neighbors in that vicinity and Dr. Bunker and J. A. Brown got up and went to see what caused the disturbance. While they were standing near the horse discussing the matter, two rough looking men came running down the street, jumped into the carriage and drove rapidly away. It is the opinion of Mr. Brown and Dr. Bunker that these men were in some mischief and had this horse near by in order to make a hasty exit from the neighborhood. No reports have been received of any depredations in the neighborhood, however, and if the men were attempting to do any mischief, they probably were frightened away before they accomplished it.
