BADLY CUT ABOUT THE HEAD

Sheriff Gillen was notified Saturday about 9 o'clock a. m., that a young colored man was lying on W. Ann street, badly cut up about the head and seemingly unconscious.

Two of the deputies went out and carried the man to the jail and summoned Dr. Pierson, who made an examination of the man's wounds. He was bleeding so profusely that a satisfactory examination could not be made. There are fears, however, that the man is suffering from a fractured skull. Although the wounded man has recovered his senses partially, he refuses to tell his name or how he came to be in the condition in which he was found.
