IN AND ABOUT PITTSFIELD JUNCTION

Pittsfield Junction, Aug. 27. - The Stone Sunday school has postponed its excursion on account of diphtheria in the vicinity.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglass are visiting friends in Detroit.

Mr. J. Campbell returned to Pueblo, Colo., Saturday, where he has a position in the city schools.

People in the southeastern part of the township held a neighborhood picnic near Geddes last Saturday.

Mrs. Summer is visiting Friends near Lansing.

Mrs. F. Hutzel visited in Sebewaing the past week.

Farmers no longer complain of wet weather. Rain is badly needed by late corn and potatoes.

Haymaking is still in progress around here.

Mr. and Mrs. Adam Bohnet are entertaining their sons, John and Christian, and families, of Saginaw and Washington, this week.

Diphtheria is still prevalent in this vicinity and is likely to be for some time unless a stricter quarantine is maintained than has been the case so far.
