At a session of the Probate Court for said County of Washtenaw. held at the Probate Office, in the city of Ann Arbor, on the 26th day of August, in the year one thousand nine hundred and two.

Present, Willis L. Watkins, Judge of Probate.

In the matter of the estate of Caroline M. Root, deceased.

On reading and filing the petition duly verified of Charles H. Cole, one of the creditors of the said Caroline M. Root, praying that administration of said estate be granted to Seth C. Randall, or some other suitable person and that appraisers and commissioners be appointed.

It is ordered, that the 19th day of September next, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, at said Probate Office be appointed for hearing said petition

And it is further ordered. that a copy of this order be published three successive weeks previous to said time of hearing, in the Argus-Democrat,a newspaper printed and circulating in said county of Washtenaw.

NOTICE OF

LETTING OF DRAIN CONTRACT

Notice is hereby Given, that I, D. W. Barry County Drain Commissioner of the county of Washtenaw and state of Michigan, will, on the 11th day of September, A.D. 1902, at the lower end of drain in the township of Superior, in said county of Washtenaw, at ten o'clock in the forenoon of that day, proceed to receive bids for the cleaning out of a certain drain known and designated as "The Furlong Drain," located and established in the township of Superior, in said county of Washtenaw and described as follows. to-wit: commencing 8.4 chains east and 17.75 south of the 1/4 post on the north side of section 14, township of Superior; thence running n 6 deg e 1.00 chains; thence north 23 deg e 5.42 chains; thence n 23 1/2  deg w 88 chains; thence s 84 1/2 deg w 10.57 chains; thence s 35 deg w 3.47 chains; thence s 75 deg w 8.54 chains; thence s 75 deg w 8.54 chains; thence s 79 deg W 4.79 chains; thence west 18.93 chains; thence s 53 3/4 deg w 1.65 chains to west line of e 3/4 of w 1/2 of n w 1/4 of sec 14. Said job will be let by sections. The section at the outlet of the said Drain will be let first, and the remaining sections in their order up stream, in accordance with the diagram now on file with the other papers pertaining to said Drain, in the office of the County Drain Commissioner of the said county of Washtenaw, to which reference may be had by all parties interested, and bids will be made and received accordingly. Contracts will be made with the lowest responsible bidder giving adequate security for the performance of the work, in a sum then and there to be fixed by me, reserving to myself the right to reject any and all bids. The date for the completion of such contract, and the terms of payment therefor, shall and will be announced at the time and place of letting.

Notice is further hereby given, that at the time and place of said letting, or at such other time and place thereafter to which I the County Drain Commissioner aforesaid, may adjourn the same, the assessments for benefits and the lands comprised within the Furlong Drain Special Assessment District," and the apportionments thereof will be announced by me and will be subject to review for one day, from nine o'clock in the forenoon until five o'clock in the afternoon.

The following is a description of the several tracts or parcels of land constituting the Special Assessment District of said Drain, viz: the w 1/2 of n e 1/4 section 14; the e 1/2 of the w 1/4, except 10 acres on the w side of n 1/2 section 14;  the e 1/2 of the w 1/2 of n w 1/4  and 10 acres w side of n 1/2 of e 1/2 of n w 1/4 section 14;  the e 1/2 of w 1/4 of the n w 1/4 section 14;  the e 1/2 of n w 1/4 section 15;  the w 1/2 of the w 1/4 of n w 1/4 section 14;  the e 54 acres of the w 1/2 of n e 1/4 section 15;  the w 26 acres of the w 1/2 of n e 1/4 sec 15;  the n w 1/4 sec 15;  the n 60 acres of w 1/ 2 of s e1/ 4 sec 15;  the n 1/2 of w 1/2 of s w 1/4 sec 14;  the n 1/2 of e 1/2 of s e 1/4 of sec 15;  the s 10 acres of w 1/2 of the s e 1/4 section 11;  the 35 acres on south end of e 1/2 of s w 1/4 sec 11;  the w 1/2 of s w 1/4 sec 11;  the e 1/2 of s e 1/4 sec 10;  20 acres on the east side of the e 1/2 of s w 1/4 section 10;  30 acres on w side of e 1/2 of s w 1/4 sec 10: also the township of Superior is liable to assessment

Now. Therefore, all unknown and non-resident persons, owners and persons interested in the above described lands, and you W. Rooke, Geo. Burrell, M. Furlong, Clinton Burrell, A. H. Collins, John Gale, Florance Caul, Andrew Murray. Geo. McDugal, Adam Magle, R. Bagley, Mary Dures, Geo. Vandevort, E. N. Dolby, Frank Collins are hereby notified that at the time and place aforesaid, or at such other time and place a thereafter to which said hearing may be adjourned, I shall proceed to receive bids for the cleaning out of said Furlong Drain, in the manner hereinbefore stated; and, also, that at such time of letting from nine o'clock in the forenoon until five o'clock in the afternoon, the assessment for benefits and the lands comprised within the Furlong Drain Special Assessment Districts will be subject to review.

And you and each of you, owners and persons in the aforesaid lands, are hereby cited to appear at the time and place of such letting as aforesaid, and be heard with respect to such special assessments and your interests in relation thereto, if you so desire.
