THE WELL IS NOW DOWN OVER 900 FEET

The Public Schools Will Open in Two Weeks-Where Milan People Are Visiting

Milan, Mich., Sept. 2- Milan schools open September 15.

Thursday, Sept. 4 is voucher day and all pensioners are deeply interested in this day.

Mr. and Mrs. Webb Blackmer are moving from Hurd st. into one of Amos Taylor's cottages on County st. this week.

Mrs. J. Lockwood left Saturday for the west where she will visit friends for a few weeks.

Mrs. Potter, of Newport, is the guest of Mrs. Bernap for a few days.

September 5 is I. O. O. F. day and a big time is expected.

Mr. Charles Boardman left Sunday afternoon for his home in New York city after a pleasant visit of two weeks with H. J. Zimmerman and family.

Mrs. Lelia Seavey left for her home in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Friday.

Postmaster Charles Pullen and wife are visiting friends in Flint this week.

Mr. F. A. Miller has returned from his Adrian trip.

Mr. and Mrs. Morris Vincent leave in a few days for Massachusetts where they will visit friends in Boston and several other cities.

Miss Nellie Delaforce left Saturday for Corunna where she is to teach the languages the coming school year.

The Junior League held an interesting Japanese picnic on the church lawn Thursday.

Miss Annie Delaforce left for Detroit Sunday where she will soon resume her school duties as teacher in a few days.

Mr. Charles Gauntlett returned this week from his summer trip in Ohio with Lee Vincent.

Mrs. S. Chapin left Monday for a ten days outing in Petoskey.

Mr. Charles Mesic, of Detroit, is visiting his parents, Dr. and Mrs. A.G. Mesic for a few days.

Mrs. C. Sill who has been very ill is convalescent.

Monday afternoon the Detroit Bible Nine played a game of base ball with the Milan High School Nine on Milan grounds. Score 11 to 5 in favor of the Detroit Bible Nine.

John Clements, of Woodville, Ohio, has commenced work on the Milan oil and gas well. They found the hole left by the men last spring and they are down 900 feet at present.
