THE BURGLAR WAS DISCOVERED

He Begged Mr. Kimball's Pardon and Departed.

A Midnight Visitor With a Dark Lantern Invades a House on Fifth Ave. and Depot. St.

A burglar entered the residence of P. S. Kimball, on the corner of Fifth and Depot street at 1 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. Kimball was awakened by a sound and saw a light in another part of the house. He woke his wife up, saying there was somebody in the kitchen. He went in the kitchen, but saw no one and then looked out the back door. When he turned around he found a dark-lantern flashed at him from the kitchen.

"What do you want?" said Kimball.

"I beg your pardon" said the polite burglar.

Kimball opened the door and told the burglar to get out. He did so. He took the bicycle of Sandy Armstrong, which had been left out-doors, a little ways with him, but abandoned it.
