THE COAL SITUATION IN ANN ARBOR

The coal situation in Ann Arbor looks desperate indeed, from what the local dealers say. Mr. Staebler said yesterday: "I do not know what the people of this town are going to do. They seem to think that coal may be had at any and all times, for calls are coming in all the time for hard coal. It gives one good practice on the telephone, but we have to disappoint them. we have about fifty tons of hard coal left which is calculated to supply the advance orders, allowing for loss in slacking and in the recent flood. We may have some left afterwards, but it is pretty hard to tell."

Another local dealer shipped in two carloads of Black Ban coal yesterday, which is going at $6 a ton.
