IT WILL MEET IN LANSING DURING NOVEMBER

Executive Committee Has Arranged an Interesting Program for the Season

The executive committee of the Michigan Sunday School association held its quarterly meeting in Lansing, Sept. 26, at which the program for the coming annual convention (to be held in that city Nov. 18, 19 and 20, was adopted. From present indications, this program will furnish much practical information concerning modern Sunday school work and several new features will be introduced. Speakers of national and international reputation have been secured, who will instruct Sunday school officers and teachers desiring more practical results in their work. Among the speakers are Marion Lawrence, Toledo, international and general secretary; Chas. D. Meigs, St. Louis, Mo., associate editor of the Sunday School Evangelist; Hugh Cork, Philadelphia, and Miss Finie M. Burton, kindergarten instructress of Louisville, Ky., while Prof. E. O. Excell, the well-known convention leader has been secured to conduct the singing.

The Michigan Passenger association has granted a one-fare rate for the round trip, as in former years.

At the committee meeting, General Secretary Alfred Day reported a prevailing desire for closer relations with the state association in convention work. He found a most serious hindrance, however, in the failure to secure co-operation from many county officers in planning for their annual conventions far enough in advance to enable an itinerary of date convenient alike to county and state and arranged in due form, that he might reach all the counties without changes of confliction of dates.

State Treasures H. H. Simpson, Bad Axe, reported that if all the counties and individuals pay their pledges in full by Nov. 1 there will be sufficient funds to meet all obligations. C. J. Burnett, Lansing, is chairman of the committee of arrangements.
