Marrying Justice Visits Ann Arbor
Justice St. Clair, of St. Joseph, Mich., is visiting his father, Alvin H. St. Clair, 309 N. Fourth Avenue. The justice says that the stories that come from the "Marrying Town" are grossly exaggerated and utterly without foundation. His version of the large number of marriages is this: "All the marriages in the county and anywhere in fact near St. Joseph, are made note of during the week and then the Monday Chicago papers print their names as though all the knots had been tied on Sunday. Occasionally they wait two weeks before harvest and then have a banner day. Oh, yes, the marrying business is pretty fair for our profession."
