CAPT. MANLY NOW COUNTY ABSTRACTER

The Jackson county board of supervisors have selected C. H. Manly as the county abstractor, and has appointed a committee to superintend the further journalizing of offices.

The contract of Capt. C. H. Manly, with Jackson county, for the compiling of the county set of abstract books is practically completed, and the county is ready to make abstracts. Acting under the authority of the enabling act passed by the legislature, the county board appointed C. H. Manly the superintendent of the county of the county abstract office. Under the arrangement, Mr. Manly and his two clerks will attend to the duties of the abstract office proper, and also superintend the journalizing of the probate and county of treasurer's office, which the board ordered done some time ago. An abstract committee, comprising members of the board of supervisors, will supervise the superintendent of abstracts, during the recesses of the board. Under the rules adopted by the board not more than 25 cents an entry will be charged for abstracts. A $10,000 bond has been asked of the superintendent, and the judiciary committee will prepare the bond.
