WOMAN'S RELIEF CORPS MEETING

Delegates from the first district of the W. R. C. met Wednesday morning and afternoon for their ninth annual convention in the Maccabee hall. There were fifty delegates present beside one hundred others interested in the work. With the memory of their big convention in Detroit last year still fresh in their memories the ladies were inspired to make this one of the most successful conventions they have ever held. The corps, as is well known, has done great work in this county as an auxiliary of the G.A.R and today made preparations for the work as it is to be carried on during the ensuing year. It was noted that during the past year reports showed fewer calls were made on the organization as a whole than the year before. Mrs. H.S. Dean gave the delegates ab address of welcome and introduced Mrs. Evelyn Creusere, of Detroit, who occupied the chair at both sessions of the convention. The Cory Corps had the largest delegation, eleven members. The entire convention was entertained at a banquet this noon at the Arlington hotel. In the afternoon each corps was represented in a five-minute talk by its official representative.
