Sheriff Gauntlett Returns Thanks

SHERIFF GAUNTLETT RETURNS THANKS

Sheriff-elect Gauntlett was in the city yesterday and desires the Argus to express to the people of Washtenaw county his thanks for the kindly expression of confidence in him which they expressed at the polls Tuesday. As sheriff of this county he will endeavor to so conduct the office that no one who voted for him will ever have occasion to regret their vote. 

His magnificent run in his own section of the country is particularly pleasing to him. In his own town, York, not one democrat scratched his name. He carried York by 241. He carried every town in the county excepting Northfield and Sylvan, but the expression of confidence in his own section is, of course, particularly pleasing to him as his own neighbors must know him best.
