Will Work Loyally for University Interests

FRANK & MANLY LETTER

Others Cannot Influence Him Against the University Mr. Glazier's Majority Believed to be About 200

The latest returns available seem to indicate Glazier's election as senator by a majority of 137. Tefft carries Washtenaw by 240 and Glazier Jackson by 377. These Jackson figures are not believed to be correct and the Argus' own opinion is that Mr. Glazier's majority will be increased rather than diminished by the official figures in Jackson county.

The Argus is in receipt of the following frank and manly letter from Mr. Glazier and would state as a preface to it that in the columns of the Argus there has never been an insinuation that Mr. Glazier would not personally be a loyal friend of the University. His letter is as follows:

Chelsea, Mich., Nov. 6, 1902. Editors of the Ann Arbor Argus:

Gentlemen - I learn that my position with regard to the University of Michigan has been misrepresented. In order that people may know just where I stand regarding this matter, I wish to say that the University will have my loyal support during my term of office as state senator.

If the entire vote of the University wards had been cast against me it would not have changed my allegiance and loyalty to this institution. If others wish to fight the University that is their privilege; but I wish it distinctly understood that no power on earth can every influence me to work against the interests of this great institution, which is my on alma mater.

It will be my earnest endeavor to represent faithfully the interests of all the state institutions in the 10th senatorial district as well as the interests of all my constituents regardless of party or creed.

Respectfully,

FRANK P. GLAZIER.
