BIG INCREASE IN POSTAL RECEIPTS
OCTOBER WAS A PHENOMINAL MONTH
Yearly Increase is $3,523.44 While for October Alone is $1,236.61
The Ann Arbor postoffice has steadily increased its business for the past few years, but never before has there been such a rapid increase as there has been during the past year. The total increase in receipts for the fiscal year which began April 1, 1902, has been $3,523.44. The business done in the month of October is the largest ever done in the history of this office, the receipts being $5,477.24. The business done in October, 1901, was $4,240.68, or over $1,236 less than the same month this year. If this increase should continue until the end of the year, the books would show over $7,000 more business than last year.
The increased business is chiefly in the money order and registry departments. People are using these convenient methods of transferring money more and more each year.
