Life Crushed Out in Elevator.

Washington, D.C., Nov. 13--Charles Faunce, a painter, thirty-three years of age, was struck and instantly killed by the descending weights in an elevator shaft in the patent office building yesterday. He had leaned into the shaft to locate an article in which had fallen from an upper floor and did not notice that the cage was in motion.
