Ann Arbor will have a larger park at what is now known as the cat-hole than was originally planned. The city fathers, in accordance with previous actions, offered the cat-hole to the regents of the University to be fixed up as a botanical garden, but the regents declined to accept the gift unless more land was included in it. So Monday night, on petition of 10 freeholders, the council decided to include in the park a strip of ground 138 feet frontage on Washington street by 136 feet deep, technically known as Lot 114 in Block 3, R. S. Smith's Third Addition, and the N. E. corner of Lot D in Block 3, now occupied by John Moseley and Sarah F. Moseley. So the council resolved that this land was needed for a park and fixed Dec. 16 as a day for hearing the owners.

In the meantime a committee consisting of Ald. Hamilton, Grose and Jenny will endeavor to see what the land can be obtained for and determine whether or not it would be more profitable to condemn it.
