The council Monday evening voted each alderman $25 for services on the Board of Registration and election day instead of $10 as recommended by the finance committee. Ald. Hamilton said it was like a congressional salary grab, but he voted for it along with all the rest of the aldermen, saying he would give his share to the Y. M. C. A. building fund. The $25 is also to pay for services on four or five boards of review of special assessments and it is all the salary the city fathers get. Last year it was $10.
