By Students In Court Room When Lawyers Sparred

Harrison Case IS Progressing Rapidly Today and Audience Continues Large.

(From Monday's Daily Argus.) The case of Mrs. Harrison, widow of Motorman Harrison, agaisnt the D., Y., A. A. & J. line, is progressing rapidly today in the circuit court.

Judge Watkins was on the stand this morning to determine what a man's services are usually worth from Harrison's age until he naturally may be expected to die. His testimony showed that circumstances vary "that at a mature age Harrison might have been general superintendent of the road."

Manager Merrill, of the road, was placed on the stand and testified concerning the installation of the high tension system. He said that it was put in in 1900. His testimony brought out the fact that Harrison had worked from Sept. 25, 1900, to Oct. 3, 1900, as a conductor on the Ann Arbor city line, that he was then broken in as a motorman and placed on the main line Aug. 7, 1901.

Judge Kinne took occasion to "call down" the students in his court this afternoon when they made some demonstration at the sparring of Attorneys Joslyn and Sawyer. He said that this contempt had been going on for some time and that the very next repetition of it would compel him to turn over the boisterous one to the sheriff. The judge said: "Evidently some of you never received any instructions as to the proprieties of the court room. No comment from you on any of the proceedings here is necessary. You are, most of you, engaged in a serious study and if you come in here you are expected to conform to the customs of this court. You ought to receive some instruction in regard to deportment and good manners, and I should be glad to turn the matter over to those who aree more accustomed to training the youth than I am. On the next occasion I shall turn you over to the sheriff and see how you like it when he gets through with you."
