TOOK KNAPP TO OWOSSO

CHARGED WITH STEALING $50 FROM HYPNOTIST KNOWLES

Knowles Is Said to Have Faked It Both Here and in Owosso

The sheriff of Shiawassee county took Frank D. Knapp to Owosso Saturday. He was arrested in this city by Deputy Sheriff Kelsey Friday. He was the property man for Knowles, the hypnotist, who was in this city a few days ago, and is charged with having skipped out from Owosso Thursday night with $50 of Knowles' money.

The hypnotist is having lots of trouble in Owosso. The papers there claim that he is a fakir, that he drives through the streets blindfolded with a transparent blindfold, and that he knows in advance the route selected. A woman writes from Holly claiming to have been a member of the company, making these charges, which had previously been made by a member of the committee in Owosso.

The Argus has been informed by parties here who ought to know, that Knowles knew where the key was hidden in this city before he started on his drive.

In Owosso, when Knowles had finished his drive, he hastily snatched the blindfold from his eyes and thrust it without folding in his coat. A member of the committee made a fuss about it and demanded to see it, he finally produced a neatly folded up blindfold instead of one rumpled as he placed it in his pocket.
