BIG BARN FIRE IN AUGUSTA

TWO HORSES AND A COW WERE BURNED

Loss by Burning William Siegli's Barn Reaches $2,000 - Insured in German Farmers

A big loss by fire occurred in Augusta township last Thursday night, when the barn of Willie Siegle was burned with contents involving a loss of $2.000. The fire was discovered at about 11 o'clock when the barn was all ablaze. By strenuous efforts four horses and most of the cows were saved, but two horses, one cow and eight pigs were burned in the barn. A big crop of hay and rye and all the farm utensils were burned. The barn was insured for $800 in the German Farmer's Mutual and the contents for $500. The cause of the fire is unknown. The Siegle farm is located at the northwest corner of Section 6 of Augusta.
