Mrs. Mason Is Destitute

About three weeks ago Mrs. Jennie Mason, a white woman who married a colored man, came to Adrian from Ann Arbor and has been living at the home of Jack Walker, the colored cook of the stag hotel, it is said. It is further state that she is trying to get a divorce from her husband. Mrs. Mason through an attack of paralysis has lost all control of the lower limbs, and she was advised Tuesday to go to the country house. It is thought she should be a charge of Washtenaw County, but the authorities will probably investigate before she is sent over there, as the little controversy between Lenawee and Jackson has not yet been settled. -- Adrian Telegram. 

Mrs. Mason removed from this city to Grand Rapids two years ago and remaining there over a year gained a residence there. She has not residence there. She has no residence in Washtenaw County and so is not a proper charge for this county. She is the woman who was in the hospital here who was taken to Saline and Adrian by three other women, one of whom lost much of her wearing apparel on the return trip.
