Cranson Will Case Settled
The contest over the estate of Frank Delos Cranson, of Webster, was settled Wednesday and what promised to develop into a hot legal fight will go through the ordinary forms of law uncontested.
It will be remembered that Mr. Cranson left a will by the terms of which legacies were left to the First Congregational church of Webster and to the Webster Congregational cemetery. The heirs at law started to contest the probating of the will.
Today an agreement was signed between the church and cemetery associations and Edgar Cranson, Elsie Cranson and Emma Cranson, the sole heirs at law under the terms of which the property is to he equally divided between the heirs on one side and the First Congregational church and the Webster Congregational cemetery on the other side.
To enable this division to be made the parties consented that the probate of the will is to be denied and an administrator appointed by the probate judge. Immediately thereafter proceedings are to be begun in the circuit court by the heirs for partition sale of the real estate and the net proceeds of the sale is to be turned over to the administrator.
Out of the property the administrator is to pay all debts including funeral expenses and attorneys' fees for both sides and $200 to Elsie Cranson in full for all claims. None of the parties are to present any further claims against the estate. After the debts and expenses are paid the balance left is to be divided into to equal parts of which the church and cemetery get one part.
