COUNCIL HAS TAKEN THE FIRST STEPS
Petition for Asphalt Paving from Liberty to Huron Streets
South Fourth avenue is to be paved. A petition of Chis. Spaeth, J. W. Robison and ten others, property owners on Fourth avenue, was presented to the council last night asking that that avenue be paved from Liberty street to Huron street. A resolution offered by Ald. Hamilton was passed by a vote of 9 to 3 declaring it the purpose of the council to pave Fourth avenue, the city to pay for the street intersections and 20 per cent of the balance of the cost, the property owners to pay 80 per cent. The petition was referred to the board of public works with instructions to prepare plans and specifications.
