The official vote in 23 of the 32 precincts is Hooker 3,237, Pound 3,019. On school commissioner the vote of the same precincts is Foster 3,242, Smith 3,012. Unofficial and estimated returns from the other precincts give Hooker about 300 majority and Foster about 175. The official returns do not include the city and township of Ypsilanti, Augusta, Bridgewater and Lyndon. In these same 23 precincts there were 1,871 votes for the amendment for auditors in this and three other counties and 2,081 votes against, a majority of 210 No.
