Stockbridge, Mich., May 2.- Another of the landmarks of Stockbridge has succumbed to the onward march of progress. This time the old brick store that was in 1848 erected by Silas Beebe, who a few years before hat platted the village, is being torn down to make room for a more modern structure. When the Masons in 1862 organized their lodge, they held their meetings in the upper rooms of this building, continuing to do so with some additional room, until the present. They have now concluded to and themselves a handsomer home and in the place of the old brick store will be erected a building 80x42 feet. The front of the building will be of cement block.
