EMERY.

Mr. and Mrs. Claude Leland left Tuesday for the west. They expect to make their future home in Colorado.

Children's day will be observed at this place on the third Sunday in June.

Mrs. Ezra Brokaw very pleasantly entertained the ladies of the Clover Leaf club last Saturday afternoon. Twelve games were played after which elegant refreshments were served. Mrs. Courtney Burlingame won the prize.

Mrs. Mosser will entertain the L. O. T. M. M. on Thursday next.

Mrs. Kate Burlingame and granddaughter, Katherine, are visiting firends in Ypsilanti.

Mrs. Wilkinson, of South Lyon, attended the entertainment at Sutton's school on Wednesday night.

School closed in the Sutton school Wednesday, with appropriate exercises. The program was very good and especially the singing. The school room was crowded to its utmost. Silence reigned throughout the entire exercises. Fine refreshments consisting of fruit, nuts, popcorn and candy were served. Miss Wilkinson, the teacher, deserves great praise for her work in the school room, also for her untiring patience in assisting the children in tastily arranging and caring for their flower gardens, etc. She will take a year's rest, traveling and visiting in the west.
