The chikli-en of Chas. Ntiylor are recovering froni a severe attack of scarlet fever. Joshua Laranray is confined to the ïouse with tonsilitis. Mr. and Mrs. Will Winans, of Whitnore Lake. spent Sunday with Jay Winans and wife. Miss Nora Slmrtleff, who has been visiting frienda here, has returned to ier home in Battle Creek. Mr. and Mrs. Fish, of South Bend, Ind., arp visiting Mrs. Lucinda Treadwell. Mrs. Fish was formerly Emily Treadwell. Miss Marguerite Burd has received a box of sea shells from her aunt, Miss Louise Dalkey, in New York. Miss Dalkey is spending the summer at the sea shore. Joseph Cochran Is visiting his brother in Durand. Mrs. Henry Miller will entertain the L. O. T. M. M. at tea this month. Mrs. Win. Naylor is on the sick list. Miss Allura Rudd and Miss Anna Leiand, of the Normal, are spending their vacation at home. George Zeeb, sr., a farmer living near Kmery, was seriously kicked by a runaway horse. He started to the field after dinner to rake hay. Through some fault of the harness, the horse bogan to run. Mr. Zeeb was thrown froni the rake and kicked in the side, breaking two ribs. He was also kicked on the knee, breaking the knee cap in two. He was picked up unconscious and medical attendance summoned from Ann Arbor. He is doing .is ivell as could be expected at this writing.
