SHEEP MEN TO MEET IN MILAN

The seventeenth annual meeting of the Improv Black-top Delaine Merino Sheep Breeders' association, which is to be held at the home of D. C. Wacker, Lima township, on Wednesday, august 19, will be a matter of considerable importance to the wool growers of this vicinity. The parent flock of Black-top Delaine Merinos were brought to this section about ten years ago by William Whitaker, and their breeding has since been continued by his brother, Charles Whitaker, who is at present much interested in them and who was interested in bringing the convention here in August.

In speaking of these sheep O. C. Burkhart spoke in the highest terms of their wool and said that fully 40 per cent of the wool bought this season by the Chelsea Lumber & Produce Co. had been graded up to the Black-top Delaine Merino standard. Other than the parent flock brought to this locality by the Whitakers there are now six or seven other pure-blooded flocks in this locality.
