Marion Granger Made a Hit in New Opera
SHOWERED WITH BOQUETS
And Compelled to Respond to Three Vociferous Encores – Opera A Great Theatrical Hit
Atlantic City, N. J., Aug. 3, 1903.––[Special to the Argus.]–– "Miss Bob White," Willard Spencer's beautiful opera was produced tonight at Young's Pier theater here and achieved a magnificent success, the audience being loud in their praise of the opera and company. Miss Marion Granger made her debut in a leading role and scored a triumphant hit as "Miss Schulyer." Her song at the opening of the second act, "The Song of the Old Tin Pan," fairly carried the audience by storm and it was only after she had responded to three vociferous encores and been showered with bouquet after bouquet that the opera was allowed to proceed.
"Miss Bob White" will be seen at the Athens in November.
