THE COMMISSION ALLOWED $950

FINDINGS FILED IN THE J. WEBSTER CHILDS CASE

Value of Timber Removed from Estate Placed at $950 Instead of $18'495 As Claimed

The commission appointed to determine the question as to whether timber to the value of $18,475 was removed from the land of the late J. Webster Childs during the time from his death to the death of his widow, Mrs. Lucy A. H. Childs, has filed its findings with the probate court. The commission which heard the evidence was composed of John. L. Hunter, Emery Leland and Johnson Backus.

The commission did not believe, it seems, that the estate had been depleted to that extent by the removal of timber, for whereas the value of the timber removed was placed at $18,475, the commission value it at $950.

It appears, however, that even this amount is not to be accepted by the interested represented by the executor, as Attorney Frank A. Jones says an appeal will be taken from the findings of the commissioners.
