Karl C. Joerndt was found dead in bed, at the home of his son, Wm. j. Joerndt, 616 Miller avenue, Monday morning.

Mr. Joerndt has complained for some time oí pains in the region of the heart, but no special notice had been taken of the matter as he did not appear to think it serious enough to necessitate the consulting of a physician. Last evening he retired in his usual health, and the family heard him stirring about the house about midnight, but Monday when they went to call him life passed away, the result of heart disease.

Coroner Watts was at once notified, but he decided that there was nothing In the circumstances to warrant the empanelIing of a jury and he consequently issued a certificate for burial.

Mr. Joerndt was an old and well known resident of Ann Arbor. For many years he and his wife resided on S. First Street and it is only about two years ago that they gave up housekeeping and have since spent their time with their sons, Fred of Whitmore Lake and Wm. J. of this city. He was a charter member of the Ann Arbor Arbeiter Unterstuetzungs Verein and was highly esteemed by his brother members. He leaves a wife and the two sons to survive him.

The funeral was held from the residence, 616 Miller avenue, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'colck.
