One of the most profitable and interesting institutes for the teachers of Washtenaw county closed last evening. The institute opened on Monday, but a great deal of profitable information was imparted during those three days. Prof. Webster Cook, of Saginaw, was the conductor, assisted by Profs. Tooze, of Saline, and W. C. Hull, of Lansing.

Prof. Jones, president of the Normal college, gave a very interesting lecture Monday evening. Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction French also addressed the teachers.

School Commissioner C. E. Foster said that Huron county alone had a larger attendance this year. He is laying plans for a 15-day institute and hopes to Increase the number in attendance from 125 of this year to at least 200. One percent was given to the teachers on their examination grade for each day they were in attendance and five percent for the entire time.
