Big Blaze In Calumet

Calumet, Mich., Aug. 13.- Early Wednesday morning fire destroyed the building and plant of the Suometar Printing company and the adjoining frame structure. Loss, $3,000; fully insured. The new $40,000 Walz block, owned by Maggie Walz, a Finnish woman, editress and publisher, was considerably damaged. Miss Walz narrowly escaped death from suffocation while endeavoring to save her personal effects.
