Duluth, Minn., Aug. 13. - E. E. Johnson, bookkeeper for the Commercial Banking company of this city was arrested here last evening on a warrant charging him with the embezzlement of $45,000 of the bank's money. When placed in jail Johnson admitted his guilt and stated that his peculations had extended over a period of eight months, and that he had been able to deceive his employers by a manipulation of the books. He declared that he had squandered the money in stock speculation.
