State Has Claim On Judson Estate
The State of Michigan has a claim against the estate of the late Wm. Judson which will be presented to the commisioners on claims for allowance. It is for $250.
It appears that a day or two before the failure of the City Savings bank of Detroit one of the deputy oil inspectors stationed in Detroit purchased a draft for the above amount at that institution, the sum representing inspection fees collected by him, and forwarded the draft to Inspector Judson.
Before the draft could be cashed the bank failed, and the matter has been in that position ever since. The state will now endeavor to collect the amount from the estate.
