The picnic, Tuesday, given by the Y. W. C. A. at Mummery's grove, was a superlative success.  Half of it consisted in getting there, when between 6 and 7 o'clock, thirty strollers beat their way through bramble and blackberry vine, under ferns and over them, through tangle and long grass, until on the top of the highest bluff, they watched the sun go down behind the hollows of School Girl's Glen.  It was a jolly company that spun paper plates through the air and pelted each other with banana peel; and it was a hungry company that circled about all kinds of "goodies" for the renewal of the inner man.  The "can" and the bottle" were in their midst - and the night was warm.  After the supper was over the boys cracked a water melon at the foot of the hill, and after this dessert took the roadway home, only stopping at the Observatory to get a flash-light picture of the group.  The party broke up, tired but happy, with many thanks to Miss Woodmansee and her committee and a vote for another such a day.
