Adrift in a twenty foot yawl boat, 100 miles off the coast of Yucatan. with five cans of corn, two cans of tomatoes, two pounds of fat boiled pork, two pounds of crackers and five gallons of water - this is the fix in which William T. Hendrick and John Drew, the former the white mate the later a negro deck band of the three masted sailing vessel Richard Ringham of Pensacola, found themselves on the afternoon of July 8. They had been marooned by a captain who, they say, was temporarily crazed. Twenty-six hours after having been set adrift they came in sight of the lighthouse on Cozumel island and five hours later landed almost exhausted.
