Wednesdny was .Miss Cors Whitman'a blrthday and to celébrate the ocqasion -ii gare i china shower at her homo on Packard Street, in the evening tor Miss Amy Ryan. It was an exceedingly pretty and enjoyable affair. Skilll'nl hands turned the home into a liowor oí blooni. Festoons of golden glow and asparagus ferns adorned thp parlors. In the back parlor under au arch of the flowera and terna Miss Eliza Armluister presided at the punch bowl. The dlning room wae exceptionally ptetty. Froui the chapdeller above the table a 1 terna tin g ribbons of pink and green were attached to the table in Bueh a vray ;s to form a pyramld throngh which conld be seen a bouquet of pink earnations and the dainty silver ware. Af Ier a merry honr had been spent in guessing the na mes of flowera which lold the brldes story a música] program was rendered. Walter Ribling, of Detroit, furnlshed some very line niusic. Llttle Miss Ruth Whitinan pleased everypne witli her pretty songs. Miss Lillian Whitman accompanied by Miss Armbruster also sang severa 1 pleces. Misses Eliza Armbrnstpr and Lillian Whitman ihen served the lnneh, after which With a neal speech by one of the guests, ííiss Ryan was presented with her gifts of china. There were some very handsoiue pieceg among 1 hnst presented by the forty guests who were present.
