YPSILANTI BEAT ANN ARBOR

THE TWO HIGH SCHOOLS MET FOR PRACTICE GAME

And Ypsilanti Won by the Score of 18 to 0 Only Three Old Ann Arbor Players

Saturday's football game, between the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti high schools, although resulting in a defeat for the Ann Arbor team, served the purpose which Prof. Jocelyn had in mind when he arranged for the game. Only three of the Ann Arbor team had ever pIayed in a football game before and for the first half were completely at sea to know what was expected of them. But in the second half when they got into the game, they held the Ypsi. team down completely so that the score of 18 to 0 in favor of Ypsilanti which was made during the first half was the final one.

The Ypsilanti team deserve great credit, they knew the game and played it well. But Coach Jones is not at all discouraged for he has only been with the team for the past two days and had never before lined up the team that played Saturday. From a financial point of view the game was a greal success, for $19.50 were cleared for the Athletic associatlon.

Next Saturday the first sheduled game will be played with Jackson. It will be announced later, where the game is to be, but wherever it is everyone interested in the team should be present and give his hearty support.
