Zion's Lutheran and Bethlehem Elect New Officers

Reports Show Churches to Be in Prosperous ConditionRev. Nicklas' Salary Raised

At the annual meeting of Zion Lutheran congregation held Monday evening, the following officers were re-elected. Elder, Fred Schmid; trustees, Fred Steeb, W. E. Pardon; secretary, Louis Boes. The treasurer's report showed the congregation to be in a prosperous condition. In addition to the current and other expenses of the year, amounting to $3,100, the congregation contributed tor benevolent purposes $1,318. A very agreeable surprise was sprung on the pastor Monday evening, the congregation voting him a material increase of salary. The prospects for the coming year are bright.

The members of Bethlehem Lutheran church held their annual meeting Tuesday, and a large representation of the adherents of the church were present. The annual financial report was read and shows the church finances to be in excellent shape. The inventory values the church property at $44,000 exclusive of the cemetery property on Jackson avenue, while the outstanding indebtedness of the church is but $1,700.

The election of officers resulted in the selection of Michael Gauss and Victor Wuster to succeed themselves as trustees and John Koch to succeed Herman Allmendinger, who has removed from the city. John Miller. sr., of Dixboro, was chosen elder for another term.
