Salem, Oct. 8. --- Miss Irma Lane entertained Miss Dale DeGarmo, of Highland Station, and Miss Zora Burnett, of Bisbee, Ariz., the past week.

The social held at Rev. Mr. Butler's Friday evening for the benefit of the Sunday school was well attended.

Mrs. Kate Smith left Wednesday for a month's visit with friends in Moline, Ill.

Miss Zora Burnett of Bisbee, Ariz., and Miss Irma Lane attended the Milford fair last week.

Rev. Mr. Whitney has taken up his work in Detroit and Rev. John Wilson will fill the vacancy at Salem.

The Ladies' Dime society met with Mrs. Nora Renwick Thursday.

The Gleaners met with Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Smith Tuesday evening. Ice cream and cake were served and all enjoyed the occasion.

Mrs. Carrie VanAtta, of Northville is keeping house for Mr. Daniel Smith in the absence of his wife. 

Mrs. John Munn spent Thursday and Friday in Detroit.

Miss Ruth Munn attended the teachers' institute Saturday.

Miss Flora Atkinson, of Ann Arbor, is spending her vacation at home.

Sylvester Atchison lost a valuable cow one day this week.
