One df the most artistic receptions in Ann Arbor was given Friday afternoon by Mrs. Warren Plympton Lombard at her home, 805 Oxford road. It was given in honor of Mrs. Alfred Holmes White, and the three brides, Mrs. Allred Holmes, Mrs. Earl W. Dow, Mrs. J. R. Effinger, assisted the hostess in receiving. Dahlias of faintest pink were massed against the white walls of the Colonial hall. The library was decorated with nasturtiums and scarlet salvia, and the dining room with pansies and roses. Lighted candles gave a soft shimmer. From 2 to 3 o'clock, 200 guests came and went, the rain and gloom without only emphasizing the brightness and beauty within and making twice lovely the reception to one of Ann Arbor's artistic homes.
